I have a sheep farm in Eastern Ontario. We raise Katahdin sheep which are a hair type and do not need shearing. They are for meat- not fibre. We also have a herd of about 14 llamas. All our animals are raised in as natural a way as possible. We do not use pesticides or artificial fertilizers and feed our own hay. We cannot use the term "organic: as there is no "organically" approved lamb slaughter facility in Eastern Ontario.

Solar update
Well, we have just got the conditional contract offer from the Ontario Power Authority for the MicroFIT program, so the next step is to contact the solar panel installers and get the panels up on the barn roof.

Just bumped into your blog while searching microfit. Congrats on getting your microfit conditional offer. I am still awaiting mine which was submitted back on August 26.
Do you happen to remember when you submitted your application? Just curious as to how much longer I should wait. I have my installer ready to install once I get that offer.

Hi Okeefe. It took exactly three months to the day. We applied on August 11th so you should be hearing from them any day now.
